Westport Woods Hotel, Westport

Nestled within a 300-year-old wood just outside the vibrant town of Westport, this hotel offers beautifully appointed rooms (all of which look out on to this natural environment), a leisure centre and spa that caters for everyone with its range of treatments and swimming pool, and an excellent dining experience created by their award-winning chef.

Day One

Depart from your selected joining point and travel to Westport and the Westport Woods Hotel and Spa for your four nights stay. Comfort stops will be made en-route.

Day Two

The award-winning National Museum of Ireland - County Life tells the story of Irish country life between 1850 and 1950 using exhibits, many displays and fascinating artefacts. Learn how people lived their daily lives during both difficult and joyful times. A guided tour is included at Foxford Woollen Mills. Hear fascinating tales, marvel at the journey the small town has taken and see the working mills still producing the very best of Irish-made products.

Day Three

Enjoy a tour to Quiet Man Country and the village of Cong, nestled on the border of Galway. Although a small village, it is known worldwide as the place the Quiet Man was filmed. Return to Westport for an afternoon visit to one of Ireland's most beautiful homes, Westport House. This 16th-century Irish manor house with its history and architecture, set in over 400 acres of parkland has stunning rooms with magnificent views.

Day Four

Follow the Atlantic Drive to Clew Bay, across the Corraun Peninsula to Achill Island to enjoy the wonderful views of steeply sloped mountains plunging into the shimmering Atlantic Ocean. Near Slievemore, take some time to view the Deserted Village, abandoned around the time of the 1840's famine. The afternoon is free to explore Westport.

Day Five

After breakfast you leave Westport and make the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
