Castlecourt Hotel, Westport
The Castlecourt Hotel is a family run hotel located in the heart of Westport. It offers a 20-metre indoor pool, gym and spa and beautifully decorated rooms. The Orchard Restaurant offers a bright and stylish space, whilst the Courtyard Bistro provides light lunches and pastries throughout the day. (Lift)
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Enjoy a scenic tour through Connemara National Park and enjoy breathtaking views while passing through Doo Lough Valley, to the picturesque village of Leenane. Nestled between majestic mountain ranges and perched at the edge of Ireland's only fjord, Leenane is blessed with some of the finest scenery in the country. Visit Kylemore Abbey and embrace the magic of the magnificent 1000-acre estate, home to a Benedictine order of Nuns for the past 100 years, and a haven of history, beauty and serenity.
Day Three
Take a short, easy stroll around Cong village on an award-winning walking tour of The Quiet Man film locations, with an expert guide and storyteller. This is a must for Quiet Man film fans. Continue to thriving Galway for time at leisure. Explore the winding medieval streets of the city, colourful shop façades; and immerse yourself in the culture.
Day Four
Begin the day with a visit to the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life, where Victorian and Contemporary architecture combine. Immerse yourself in the modern exhibition galleries that explore Ireland's rural past and an almost vanished but recent way of life; and take a stroll through the magnificent, award-winning Victorian gardens. The afternoon is free to explore the pretty, Georgian town of Westport. Perhaps take a guided tour of Westport House and immerse yourself in the history and legends of the 300-year-old historic home.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Westport to start the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
