Alexandra Hotel, Fort William
Set on the shores of Loch Linnhe and Loch Eil, the Alexandra is just a few minutes’ walk from the high street. There is a large comfortable bar, several lounge areas and an amazing restaurant, which utilises many local ingredients. Due to the age and nature of this grand old building, all bedrooms are individual in size and shape. (lift)
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to the Alexandra Hotel, Fort William. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Sit back and relax as you travel through the stunning Western Highlands, stopping for a photo opportunity near the iconic Eilean Donan Castle a popular location for filming. Take the Skye Bridge on to the Magical Isle, enjoying some free time in the capital of Portree, before heading to Armadale, where you join the ferry to Mallaig. Take the beautiful journey of glens and loch sides, pausing at the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct for photos (featured in the Harry Potter movie) and the Glenfinnan Monument, where a kilted Highlander stands before a back-drop of Loch Sheil and dramatic mountains.
Day Three
Stop for photos of the iconic Commando Memorial Monument with panoramic views before arriving in the attractive village of Spean Bridge. The rest of the day can be spent in the Highland Town of Fort William.
Day Four
A full day to the city of Inverness. Travel along the shores of Loch Ness for a spot of 'Monster Hunting' before exploring the historic city with its Botanic Gardens, 19th Century Cathedral and its many shops and cafes. You may like to take a walk along the pretty River Ness.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Fort William and make the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
