Set in 10 acres of beautiful gardens and ideally situated for exploring the surrounding area. The hotel offers the charm and character of a historical building, with all the comfort of a contemporary hotel. The warm, inviting and newly refurbished restaurant provides a perfect dining experience. Enjoy the entertainment or simply relax in the comfortable bar and lounge area.
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to the Gretna Hall Hotel, Gretna Green for your four nights stay. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Spend the day in Scotland's historic capital, a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Why not visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, one of the many museums, Scott Monument, take a stroll up the Royal Mile to the castle and Camera Obscura, relax in Princes Street Gardens or enjoy some shopping? With fantastic restaurants and bars, a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with neoclassical buildings, there really is something for everyone in Edinburgh.
Day Three
Travel along the Old Roman Road and Hadrian's Wall to Corbridge. There is something Dickensian about the secret streets and courtyards, where you never know what is around the next corner. Backstreets like St Helen's should be explored and Bishop's and Old Bakery Yards. Visit the picturesque market town of Hexham, with many historic attractions.
Day Four
Half day excursion to Carlisle, a border city and the county town of Cumbria.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Gretna Green and travel home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
