Leaving Thurso you travel through Caithness and Sutherland, Europe's last great wilderness, along the spectacular North Coast 500 (NC500), which offers rugged mountains, wonderful coastal scenery, white sandy beaches, charming fishing villages and the most incredible landscapes. A photo stop will be made at Smoo Cave, which boasts one of the largest sea cave entrances in Britain (please note that there are quite a number of steps to and from the cave, although the views from the road are worth the stop anyway)!
