This charming hotel is located on Dunoon’s West Bay Promenade, offering an ideal retreat for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle. With the beach just steps away, it’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind while watching the world go by. The Garden Lounge boasts lovely views of the River Clyde, and the cozy Malt Cellar Bar offers a delightful selection of whiskies to enjoy. (lift)

 

Day One

Depart from your selected joining point and travel to Dunoon. Comfort stops will be made en-route.

Day Two

Enjoy the short ferry crossing to the Isle of Bute, with some free time in the traditional Victorian town of Rothesay. Immerse yourself in the town's rich heritage, evident in the magnificent Victorian facades embracing the picturesque Rothesay Bay. Along the stunning esplanade gardens, you'll find the renovated Isle of Bute Discovery Centre; a distinctive 1920s circular structure crafted from cast iron and glass. This centre, now a hub of entertainment with a cinema, theatre, and interactive exhibits, also serves as a showcase for the best of Bute. Consider exploring the remarkable Rothesay Castle, where dungeons, sturdy outer walls, and a grand hall have been meticulously restored. Adjacent to the castle lies the intriguing Bute Museum, offering a fascinating glimpse into the island's history. Follow the main roads for a scenic drive around Bute before returning to Dunoon.

Day Three

Travel to Tarbet and embark on a scenic cruise across the tranquil waters of Loch Lomond. Take a break in the charming village of Luss, which served as a film location for the TV show 'Take the High Road'. End the day by visiting Loch Lomond Shores, a shopping destination that offers a mix of department stores, boutique shops and nationwide retailers. Enjoy some shopping and a cup of coffee or a well-deserved snack, or take a leisurely stroll outside, find a bench and take in the breathtaking views of Ben Lomond across the Loch.

Day Four

Spend a day discovering Dunoon, which has an impressive town centre with craft shops, gallery, museum and cafes.

Day Five

After breakfast you leave Dunoon and start the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
