Highlander Hotel, Newtonmore
Situated in the village of Newtonmore, within the Cairngorm National Park. The hotel offers a warm welcome and is renowned for its good food and true highland hospitality. Enjoy the entertainment or a more relaxed atmosphere in the lounge. (no lift)
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to the Highlander Hotel, Newtonmore. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Take the scenic journey through the breathtaking Cairngorms National Park into the stunning Royal Deeside, a region cherished by the Royal Family. Visit the ancient village of Braemar, set amidst magnificent landscapes, where there will be a short break before continuing to the charming town of Ballater. Here, you'll notice the numerous "By Royal Appointment" signs and an array of unique specialty shops.
Day Three
Spend the morning in the charming town of Aviemore, nestled among majestic mountains and lush forests, with shops, cafes, and bars to explore. Then to the Highland Folk Museum, which showcases traditional Highland life. It has over 35 authentic buildings, interactive exhibits, and costumed staff, offering a vivid glimpse into rural history from the 1700s to the 1900s.
Day Four
Head to the charming settlement of Fort Augustus, situated on the impressive Caledonian Canal. Perhaps visit the Caledonian Canal Heritage Centre or the Clansman Centre and experience centuries of heritage and history from the surrounding area. Enjoy an exhilarating cruise on Loch Ness, taking in the stunning landscape and views of Urquhart Castle, before arriving in the 'Highland Capital of Scotland', Inverness. Admire the castle towering over the city as you wander through the bustling centre with its many shops, cafes and galleries.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Newtonmore and travel home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
