Buckatree Hall, Telford
A lovingly refurbished, renowned country house hotel, within a secluded setting at the foot of the Wrekin in tranquil Shropshire. Many of the bedrooms overlook the scenic garden and private lake and guests can make use of the air-conditioned gym.
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to the Buckatree Hall Hotel, Telford for your four nights stay. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
The morning can be spent sightseeing the Tudor town of Shrewsbury, with black and white timber buildings, a 17th century castle, an Abbey and higgledy-piggledy alleyways with boutique shops and cosy cafés. A leisurely afternoon drive through Shropshire, with a stop in one of England's most ancient towns. Ludlow dates back 1000 years having over 500 listed buildings and a castle. Returning through the farmlands of Wenlock Edge.
Day Three
Spend some time in Bridgnorth, where you can 'admire the view from the King's shoulder'. This is actually two towns, now connected by the steepest inland funicular railway in Britain. The High Town occupied the castle, many 16th and 17th century mansions and churches, whilst the Low Town was once a thriving port, set along the banks of the River Severn. Travel on to Kidderminster, which has many Victorian buildings, three shopping centres, the unique Museum of Carpet and a Town Hall, where speeches from distinguished leaders such as a young Winston Churchill and Emmeline Pankhurst have echoed off its walls.
Day Four
Today there will be a guided tour of RAF Cosford, home to 70 aircraft in 3 wartime hangers. Discover the amazing stories of those who served in the RAF and see the fantastic display of memorabilia.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Telford and travel home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
