Maldron Hotel, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
Located in the heart of Newcastle city centre, this brand new hotel offers a prime central location and attractions right on the doorstep. Renowned for high standards, stylish rooms and tasty menus, the Maldron is the ideal place to enjoy a leisurely getaway.
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to Newcastle for your four nights stay at the Maldron Hotel. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Enjoy an excursion to the mysterious Holy Island of Lindisfarne, still a place of Pilgrimage today. Here you will find an ancient priory (the epicentre of Christianity in Anglo Saxon times), walks, an array of wildlife and charming cafes. This tidal island becomes inaccessible when the tide washes over its causeway. After spending some time here, you will see the colourful fishing village of Seahouses and medieval Alnwick, known for its stunning castle and beautiful gardens.
Day Three
The awe-inspiring Angel of the North is a must see whilst in the area. The UK's most famous piece of public art is taller than four double decker buses and its wingspan is as big as a jumbo jet. On to the medieval city of Durham, where there will be free time to discover the churches, cathedral, museums, castle or meander down the cobbled streets to the riverbanks.
Day Four
A half day to the charming seaside town of Whitley Bay. The rest of the day is free for you to discover the sites of Newcastle or perhaps catch up on some retail therapy.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Newcastle and travel home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Please Note
It may be necessary under certain circumstances for these excursions to be operated on different days to those shown.
