Selborne Hotel, Dunoon
Superbly situated with spectacular views across the Clyde and set in its own pleasant gardens reaching down to the promenade and waters edge. The hotel offers modest rooms and a restaurant with magnificent sea views. Enjoy entertainment in the large, attractive bar lounge with dance floor; or relax and unwind in the TV or quiet lounge.
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to Dunoon and the Selborne Hotel for your four nights stay. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
Relax and enjoy the scenery as you travel to the popular coastal resort of Oban 'Gateway to the Isles' surrounded by dramatic shores and beautiful countryside. You may like to visit McCaig's Tower, the replica of the Colosseum that is such a distinctive feature on the Oban skyline. The view across Oban Bay to Kerrera and Mull is unparalleled. You may also like to visit Oban Chocolate Company or the distillery in the heart of town, founded in 1794.
Day Three
Spend a day discovering Dunoon, which has an impressive town centre with craft shops, gallery, museum and cafes.
Day Four
Visit the impressive Inveraray Castle and Gardens, the fairy-tale home of the Duke and Duchess of Argyll, set on the shores of Loch Fyne. Known for its magnificent Armoury Hall and the extravagant decoration of the State Dining Room. The stunning 16-acre gardens are worth a visit at any time of year, with daffodils, rhododendrons, azaleas, formal lawns, heathers, roses and some fine specimens of conifers.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Dunoon to start the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
