Abbey Hotel, Donegal Town - Central Hotel, The Diamond, Donegal Town
Both the Abbey and Central Hotels are situated in the Diamond, at the heart of the beautiful coastal town of Donegal. The hotels boast a central location and magnificent views over Donegal Bay, making it the perfect choice. Relax and enjoy the comfortable bedrooms, delicious dishes in the restaurant and entertainment. The Central Hotel also boasts a leisure centre which features a swimming pool, gym, steam room, jacuzzi and solarium which guests at both hotels are able to use. (lift)
Day One
Depart from your selected joining point and travel to Donegal and the Central or Abbey Hotel for your four nights stay. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
Day Two
The seaport town of Sligo is steeped in history and culture and is full of attractions. It is known as the 'shopping capital of the North West'. After some free time to discover Sligo, you can join a factory tour at Belleek Pottery, an award-winning 4-star visitor attraction. Experience Ireland's oldest pottery and see how the techniques developed over 160 years are still being used today, producing some of the most sought after gift and tableware in the world.
Day Three
A free day to spend in Donegal Town.
Day Four
Visit the attractive, vibrant town of Letterkenny, Donegal's largest town and home of the Donegal Country Museum, grand cathedral and great shopping. Admission is then included to Glenveagh Castle and Gardens. Set on the shores of Lough Veagh, this 19th century castellated mansion was built between 1867 and 1873 and shines like silver when lit by the sun. There are charming courtyards, Walled Garden, Pleasure Grounds and Woodland Gardens.
Day Five
After breakfast you leave Donegal to start the journey home. Comfort stops will be made en-route.
